Debt Protection Coverage
Debt Protection Coverage[1]
At APCU/Center Parc, we are here to help you prepare for life’s uncertainties with optional Debt Protection coverage — which may help reduce the impact of certain unexpected events on your loan. In fact, the program has paid out more than $334,253.91 in covered claims to our members from January 2025 through November 2025.
What Debt Protection Does
- Designed to offer support for your loan in specific situations, giving you and your family peace of mind by easing financial stress during difficult times.
- Offers protection in situations like death, disability, or involuntary unemployment — providing support exactly when it may matter most.
Why It’s a Valuable Add-On
- Financial safety net — If you’re unable to make loan payments due to covered events, this coverage can help prevent financial hardship or a debt burden on your loved ones.
- Peace of mind — Having protection may ease the impact of unexpected events, reducing stress and providing some peace of mind for the future.
- Flexibility and choice — Debt Protection is optional, and you’re free to choose whether to opt in.
- Broad loan applicability — Applies to a wide range of consumer loans offered by APCU/Center Parc, excluding the Advantage Home Equity Line of Credit.
Important Things to Know
- Debt Protection is a voluntary program — and is not required for loan approval.
- The credit union itself does not guarantee the protection benefits; coverage is provided through a separate insurance or warranty provider.
- The member may purchase debt protection from an agent or insurance company of their choice.
- If you opt for coverage, you’ll receive full details of terms, conditions, eligibility requirements, and coverage limits before committing.
