For the first time in the history of Atlanta Postal Credit Union, your APCU Board of Directors has voted to return a dividend bonus to you, our member. The approval is for a $1.5 million Patronage Dividend to be distributed to all APCU members who are in good standing with the credit union as of December 31, 2007.
Check your December statement to see the amount of your Patronage Dividend. The amount each member received is determined by their dividends earned and/or financing interest paid year-to-date. This means, the more you saved or borrowed at APCU in 2007, the more you will earned!
Bonus dividends are prime examples of the difference between a credit union and a bank. A bank never returns profits back to account holders because the account holders are not the owners of the bank. APCU, like other credit unions, is owned by its members so its directors, volunteers and employees, who are also members, make decisions and take actions based on the credit union’s members’ best interests.
The Patronage Dividend is our way of expressing our gratitude for the trust you have placed in us. We will continue to provide you with value each day by offering competitive rates on all of our financial products, and by standing behind our commitment to serving your financial needs to the best of our ability.
